Additional Information:

The STOP (Smoking Treatment for Ontario Patients) Program is a province-wide initiative that provides Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) and counselling support to eligible participants who want to quit smoking cigarettes. The program includes a research component that evaluates the effectiveness of various methods of delivering smoking cessation treatment. We work in partnership with local healthcare organizations to make smoking cessation treatment available, free of charge, to patients and clients of these organizations.

You can also inquire with your local primary health care provider. Many Family Health Teams, Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinics and Community Health Centres are partnering with CAMH on this STOP Program to offer patients of these organizations access to counseling and cost-free NRT. If they are participating in this program, they may be able to assist you.

You may also be eligible to participate in STOP on the Road, which holds group smoking cessation workshops in various communities across Ontario. Participants will attend a workshop and receive a 5-week kit of NRT patches at no cost. This program is delivered in partnership with local Public Health Units. Please check our website (www.stopstudy.ca) regularly for upcoming workshop locations and dates.
